Upgrade gets into gear at ‘Saf Lodge’

A major upgrade of all 72 rooms of Africa Albida Tourism’s flagship property, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, is currently underway and is expected to be completed by the end of July 2014. The new rooms will reflect the Lodge’s safari-inspired heritage, and celebrate the expansive views of the Zambezi National Park with sliding glass doors and insect screens opening out onto private balconies.

A modern colour scheme of soft caramels and elegant safari neutrals was chosen to amplify the beauty of the changing seasonal shades of the bushveld. Each room will be refitted with a new bathroom design, featuring eco-conscious rainfall showers.

With controlled movement of project staff, the Lodge continues to operate to its normal standards during the exercise. There are six blocks of rooms and the upgrade is being carried out one block at a time.

Group operations manager Brian Gardiner is overseeing the project, and he and his team are in constant interaction with guests to inform, update and address any concerns and queries that may arise.
