Kalahari Skies news

Posted on 4 August 2014

The Kalahari Skies team look have come back from a successful Indaba and look forward to excellent safari experiences from now, through to the Green Season and next Indaba. Having new vehicles designed for optimum safari experiences making the trips that much better.

After a very successful visit to Durban, South Africa where we took part in the international travel show Indaba, Kalahari Skies has had a busy start to its peak season, with multiple tours both private and set departure underway. We have expanded our vehicle fleet with three new extended Toyota land cruisers specifically designed for the optimum safari experience as well as new back up vehicles and trailers. With all the equipment additions we have also expanded on our staff members to include more first class guides, many of whom have many years experience guiding in the remotest areas of Botswana

The game viewing in the national parks and reserves of Botswana has never been better with multiple predator sightings including African Wild Dog hunts and a territory dispute between two male leopards as well as some spectacular herbivore action, the heavy rains of the past year have left most of the areas of Northern Botswana covered in a lush golden blanket as the grasses have dried, bringing large numbers of grazers to the open plains.

As always the old safari classics such as sun downers along the banks of one of the Okavango tributaries and lunches served in the open air of the African bush are always in fashion with our guests.

All in all it has been a very successful start to the peak season, we at Kalahari Skies are looking forward to another 5 months of tours with an assortment of international clients and a fantastic set of guides.
