Two chieftdoms in the south western corner of Zambia have united to establish the Simalaha Community Wildlife Conservancy on both sides of the Kasaya River to create a land-link between the Zambezi River and the Kafue National Park.  On 22nd October 2012, Senior Chief Inyambo Yeta and Chief Sekute officially opened their Simalaha Community Wildlife Conservancy  project office.

This signing ceremony symbolizes the creation of an exciting new model of wildlife conservation where local communities are taking full responsibility and ownership of their natural resource.
