Every year the annual charity fundraiser  Elephant Charge raises thousands of dollars for 12 beneficiaries located all over  Zambia.  This single event enables the continuation of excellent conservation and community initiatives that help preserve Zambia’s wildlife heritage.

The Elephant Charge challenges teams of cars and motorbikes to complete a grueling course through the Zambian bush.  It is up to each team to donate a pledge a minimum of  K4000 (approx. USD575).  The event is held at a different location each year over Zambia’s independence weekend in late October.  In 2015 the Elephant Charge will take place from the 2nd – 4th October.

Back in 2011, CFAO Zambia opened a branch in Livingstone, selling and servicing Nissan vehicles. In 2014 the franchise changed to Ford, under Vehicle Centre Zambia.

CFAO Zambia and Vehicle Centre Zambia are both part of CFAO Automotive, a division of CFAO RSA with its head office in Paris. Despite the change of franchise, the branch is still selling Nissan parts and servicing Nissan vehicles as well as selling parts for, and servicing, Ford vehicles.

To complement operations, a new tyre fitment centre opened on 1 March selling Maxxis tyres.  Tyre fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment are services offered. CFAO Zambia is also an authorized dealer for F G Wilson generators, supplying, installing and maintaining units, as well as selling spare parts.

Maxxis tyres have a high profile around the world, featuring in the Dakar Rally and in a lot of motorsports. They are particularly prominent on mountain bikes and off-road motor cycles.

In Zambia Maxxis is one of the sponsors of the annual Elephant Charge rally; in the 2014 event a vehicle was fitted with Maxxis tyres and a checkpoint was sponsored by Maxxis.
